Activity Highlight 2024/2025
❤️ Community Care, Spreading Warmth:
UMVP visited Lar Sao Luis Gonzaga (St. Luis Centre) Home to learn professional knowledge about caring for individuals with disabilities and understand the special needs of different types of impairments. They engaged in close interactions with the residents, singing and dancing to bridge the gap and show warmth and compassion.
The volunteers also visited St. Margaret Centre (Centro de Santa Margarida) to learn about the difficulties and daily lives of individuals with mental disabilities. They joined the residents in baking cookies, sharing the joy of baking while listening to their stories. This visit gave the residents happiness and companionship while raising awareness of social inclusion.

🤝 Volunteering in Greater Bay Area:
UMVP travelled to Guangzhou for an exchange and interactive dialogue on youth volunteer services with the Yuexiu District Youth Volunteer Organization. UMVP members participated in a public welfare workshop for disadvantaged children, visited volunteer service stations along Beijing Road Pedestrian Street, experienced the charm of Lingnan gardens, and tried their hand at intangible cultural heritage crafts like filigree enamel. This exchange allowed both sides to share service experiences and promote volunteer collaboration in the Greater Bay Area.
🎓 “One-Day University Student” Experience:
UMVP collaborated with Shiu Pong College to organize the “One-Day University Student” event, allowing special community groups to experience university life and fulfill their “college student” dreams. Volunteers actively led college classes and interest workshops, had meals with participants, and held graduation gown picture sessions to create unique memories.
In addition, UMVP members passionately supported many charity activities, such as various sports events for Macau Special Olympics, Macau Caritas Charity Run, and Macau Caritas Bazaar, which actively promotes social inclusion.
The UM Volunteer Team will continue to leverage its influence to encourage more students to engage in community service and take on social responsibilities.
