Eligible students will have the opportunity to receive to the following:
1. A Certificate with appreciation;
2. 400/200/100 CS of ”Responsible Citizenship” per academic year;
3. Sponsorship and/or nomination to Summer Programme;
4. Nomination and/or sponsorship to SAO exchange trips (subjects to availability);
5. Outstanding and loyal members will be recognized and awarded in the annual UM Student Award Ceremony.
Remarks:
1. Service hours will be counted every academic year – by 30 Apr (the service record after 30 Apr will be counted as the next academic year).
2. Criteria and eligibility in detail to be determined by SAO according to the actual situation.

Chinese New Year Community Visit
UMVP was invited to work with Macau Pengontung, Sheraton Grand Macao Hotel, and The St. Regis Macao to express Lunar New Year care and blessings to local elderly individuals. They went to the Macau community to do home cleaning for the elderly, delivering New Year’s greetings and best wishes as a show of kindness.
UM Volunteer Programme Signature Activity: “A day at UM” Elderly University Experiential Activity
UMVP members actively assisted in the planning and coordination of the “A day at UM” elderly university experiential activity, to provide an opportunity for the elderly to fulfill their dream of being university graduates and experience university life elements involving lectures attending, campus tour, graduation ceremony, and student activity. The activity aims to deepen the relationship between the elderly and the young generation and promote a caring culture, encourage students’ participation in social services, and enhance their sense of social responsibility.
A visit to the Unitary Police Services and Civil Protection Operation Centre
UMVP organized a visit to the Unitary Police Services and Civil Protection Operation Centre, to enhance the awareness of disaster prevention and the civil defense system in Macau. The students also visited the facilities of the Centre and learned about the functions and the coordination of the civil defense system. The visit experience enhanced their understanding of their obligations and responsibilities and the preparation for public emergencies.
UMVP members participated in the 2024 “Crystal Fish” campus evacuation drill. The drill’s purpose is to test emergency operations and improve coordination abilities in preparation for the approaching typhoon season. It also promotes students’ awareness of emergency evacuation and enhances their understanding of disaster prevention work.
Volunteer Exchange Trip at Shenzhen
An educational trip to Shenzhen included caring visit for the elderly, attending the Shenzhen District Party and Mass Service Center, and visiting the Museum of Contemporary Art and Planning Exhibition. This trip provided students with insight into the professionalism and well-established framework of local voluntary service providers. They also obtained a better understanding of the rise of volunteerism on mainland China.
A visit to Environmental Fun Station
UMVP organized a community environmental experience activity to Environmental Fun Station, participating in workshops and interactive activities, and learning about recycling facilities for electronic and electrical equipment. This provided volunteer team members with an understanding of the significance and impact of environmental protection, prompting them to think about social concerns.
Volunteer Training
UMVP provides volunteers with intensive training to assist them gain the necessary knowledge, establish proper service awareness, and improve their communication skills. It allows them to better serve the communities and ensure the quality and effectiveness of volunteer service work.
Project positive energy and mental health activity
UMVP was invited by a local volunteer activity “正能量義工, 社區推廣日” to support and project positive energy to the community. UMVP members assisted in the game booth, venue set up, publicity activity, and promote the mental health message to the public.
UMVP Inauguration Ceremony
UMVP was established in 2022 and currently has 110 members. UMVP aims at not just facilitating whole person nurturing, supporting local volunteer needs, promoting a caring culture, spreading the spirit of caring and dedication to the local community, and enhancing our students’ cohesion and sense of belongings to UM and Macau.
