1. The Committee on Inter-College Affairs (CICA)
The CICA was established aims to organize Master Cup’s Competitions, promote fair games concept and sportsmanship, develop the strong sense of belonging and affiliation with college, enhance the teamwork building, encourage healthy living, improve personal quality and lastly, offer opportunities for leadership development.
2. Organization:
The CICA is founded at the behest of the UM RC MRCM; it shall only exist within the UM RC system. It shall be led by an elected student chair and a vice chair selected from and by the college representatives serving on the CICA. The elected student should have joined in CICA or ICC. The Advisor is appointed for one full academic year and shall normally be replaced by the Deputy Advisor for the following academic year.
Function: CICA is designed specifically to serve all students across the colleges through different sports and cultural activities.
3. CICA Membership:
- Two representatives from each college. Each representative is appointed to serve for one academic year. Renewal of membership takes place at the beginning of each academic year.
- Chair and Deputy-Chair: Two students to be elected by and from the assembled college representatives.

- Advisors: One Advisor and one Deputy Advisor from the College Academic Staff; both are appointed with fixed term by the MRCM. Other Advisors pro tempore may be invited as appropriate after approval from MRCM.

4. Master’s Cup Competition:
Gold Tournaments – The Gold Tournaments include tournaments, which have regular players, individual or group representatives from more than 2/3 colleges. There are 5 gold tournaments in total for each academic year.
Colleges which win the 1st place to 4th place of Gold Tournament will be scored: 100, 80, 70 and 60 Masters’ Cup points. The rest of the colleges which are not in 1st place to 4th place but participate in the tournament will score 40 Masters’ Cup point. For those non-participating colleges in the tournament, 0 Masters’ Cup point will then be given.
Each college has a chance to use Gold Card to double the Master’s Cup points for one activity of the Gold Tournament among one academic year.
Silver Tournaments – The Silver Tournaments are tournaments without regular players, individual or group representatives from corresponding college. There are 3 CICA initiated silver tournaments in total for each academic year. The purpose of Silver Tournaments is to help promoting different kind of sport or cultural activities among UM. Hence, Master’s Cup points are only awarded to participation.
The Silver Tournaments will be divided in two types. The First type is “Competition type”, which means colleges earn the Master Cup points of 50, 40, 35 and 30 for the 1st place to 4th place of the participation. The rest of the colleges which are not in 1st place to 4th place but participate in the tournament will score 20 Masters’ Cup points. For those colleges that do not have representing teams or individual representative in the tournament, 0 Masters’ Cup point will then be given. The Second type is “Workshop type”, which means colleges earn at most 10 Master Cup points depending on the participation. The higher participation, the higher points can get.
Academic faculties, UMSU sports or affiliated clubs and/or other UM groups are encouraged to submit activity proposal to CICA Board for consideration. The half of the budget of the corresponding activity should be shared by those parties. All activities among the Gold and Silver Tournament should be approved by MRCM at the beginning of each semester.
